About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Connecticut with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, families, young adults and with those who have been involved with the foster care system as a child or foster parent. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, mood disorders, attachment issues, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced anxiety, depression, physical trauma and emotional abuse.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, motivational interviewing, and EMDR counseling. Together we can figure out what works the best for you and we will tailor your treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek counseling for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Written by A.M. on Oct 10, 2021 after therapy with Kathleen for 6 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, self esteem, coaching, compassion fatigue, and adhd. Kathy has changed my life and I am lucky to have her support.

Kathy helped me through the immediate trauma trigger that prompted me to seek help and now I have a strong sense of comfort talking with Kathy in our biweekly virtual visits.

Some visits are fun and laughs and some are difficult situation unpacking. I love love love that she is exactly who I need. Keeping our long term connection is an investment I'm happily making in case/when I have another trauma event in my future

Kathy is amazing! She really listens to you and helps create a better understanding of the situation. She is very kind and non judgemental. I found it very easy to open up to her. I highly recommend her.

One of the best counselors I've ever had for dealing with mental health issues.
